We will be having a short march, laying a wreath and then taking our demands to Government officials and holding a press conference.

Why are we taking action?
Over the last 2 years, the official death toll of UK disabled people who have died from Covid-19 has risen to around 100,000. We account for 60% of the total deaths. Many more of our people have died due to the NHS being overstretched, benefit cuts and sanctions and care support being scarce.
Our Lives Are Not Disposable!
Figures show that 43,000 or more people living in adult care homes died with Covid just in the FIRST YEAR of this pandemic. Others were given non-consenting Do Not Attempt Resuscitation notices. Meanwhile many people with adequate support and resources in independent living fared much better.
Do Not Resuscitate This Govt!
We will lay a wreath to remember the people of all ages who have died because of this pandemic, especially those who died alone in care homes and psychiatric, or assessment units. Then we will take our demands to the Government.
Our history.
A BBC television show will be released on 20th March about our history: “Then Barbara met Alan”. We are using this opportunity to remind the government and the media that disabled people are still fighting for basic choices and rights – we haven’t won yet.

DAN has always fought for emancipation and against the routine institutionalisation and oppression of disabled people, whether they are older people, children, people with learning difficulties, people with autism, etc.
