  1. Why are you only interested in people who had their sanctions overturned? I’m sure there will be far more people sanctioned for no good reason who didn’t get the decision overturned? Your programs is already looking rather one sided to me.

  2. Dispatches blew the lid on Atos investigations – so I think we can give them the benefit of the doubt!

  3. How can anybody with disabilities trust Channel 4, after they way they have largely contributed to the general belief that anybody receiving benefits is a scrounger and a scive?; They have almost certainly played a large part in the significant increase over the last 5 years in hate crime towards those with disabilities. I’m with Tina on this.

  4. I was recently santioned twice,,,,,one seems to have gone away the other was over turned, only because I was able to show a flaw in the sysytem by working with my advisors supervisor.due to a lil mix up in THE system I was sataing down the barrel of losing £280 with no resource to survive….this is one months income….for gas food elec…..its aoccurs to me know that the “people on the other side of the desk” as it were are coing over to the other side as they know in any cases its just not morally justified…..Ian Drunken Spillf and his Universal Credit! wheres that gone oh its 2017 now..but tiem the poopr and uneductaed were loooked after rathe the the priviladged middle class, ( self made men) woke up to what s really going on rather than pulling up the ladder…..get me involved I ll give you inches…

  5. you are only looking for someone to humliate degrade demonize judge scrutinize and attack people your programmes are the same iike the other channels not bias or against the fact and are propaganda which is wrong come back with a better programme if you actually wanna help that doesnt use and abuse people for your own purpose but tells the truth

    • Dispatches has done good programmes about this issue. We would not have asked people to come forward if we had any doubt about this

  6. I was Sanctioned back in January 24 for four months as I refused to take a DWP level 2 posting dealing with the new Universal Credit baring in mind i am a Qualified Computer Engineer not an office worker and went to the citizens advice at that time as I was afraid to loose my home and the citizens advice said they were gathering a case against the DWP but managed to avoid most of the sanctioning as I had some health problems and applied for ESA and got a medical certificate through the sanctioning period.

  7. Hi – I was supposed to attend an ATOS assessment last year and had to risk being sectioned by my GP as i was looking for a building to throw myself off rather than put myself through the ignominy of facing people who are trained tp be deceitful and invalidate my illness. i was also supposed to be receiving psychotherapy for a profound overwhelming feeling of pointlessness. i have survived decades of suicidal episodes and took 15 years to compile 2 books exposing the state of stigma and diversionary strategies in the voluntary and statutory sectors of MH support. i worked with many different NHS and voluntary training and support resources. the 2 books that were published last year deal with my personal journey and ‘recovery’ as one who ‘slipped the net’ of service-provision and had to go it alone. along with my observations of the problems in mental health and counter-productive attitudes and methods, even falsifying MH assessments to prevent delivery of service. these are not conspiracy theories. they are balanced factual accounts. i escaped the ATOS assessment due to legitimate rules regarding those who exhibit signs of suicidal feelings, it is utterly disconcerting to hear that IDS has ‘trained’ all JCP`staff how to deal with suicidal people – dispatches should look into that and expose what that ‘training’ amounts to, as it may well undermine people’s options to appeal under rules 29 and 35 of assessment regulations, denying them protection at their most vulnerable state. i am not out to promote my books and my author name and voice needs to be kept strictly separate from my real identity – but if they wish to speak with me, i would be available under the strictest anonymity contract. this to protect my family from discovering my disclosure of familial abuse.

    • Adrian Kenton i’d like to know more on this please : i escaped the ATOS assessment due to legitimate rules regarding those who exhibit signs of suicidal feelings, it is utterly disconcerting to hear that IDS has ‘trained’ all JCP`staff how to deal with suicidal people – dispatches should look into that and expose what that ‘training’ amounts to, as it may well undermine people’s options to appeal under rules 29 and 35 of assessment regulations, denying them protection at their most vulnerable state.

  8. It is not only the actual sanctions that are being thrown on to people, but the threat of being sanctioned that terrifies people. This is hardly conducive to getting people well and back into work. It has built a culture of harassment and bullying of which the DWP have fought tooth and nail to hide. If anyone thinks that the way to help people back into work is to threaten them with abject poverty then they are truly deluded. What is needed is a holistic approach linked up with health professionals and real meaningful training with real meaningful job opportunities at the end of it.
