Hi folks, I’ve been hearing very concerning things about the lack of professionalism and competency in agencies/charities in Somerset. I’m not aware of a Somerset-based disabled people’s organisation, so here I am asking: Who’s out there who might want to form a group to represent disabled people in Somerset?
Issues that I know of are:
Organisations that are meant to give advice etc not being accessible, not being well run or well managed or having competent staff who understand disability;
Organisations being afraid to call out other orgs, on where they fail their clients;
There being a lot of public awareness needing to be created, to demand change from elected representatives etc.
