On the 17th Nov 2021 DPAC North East will be outside the Newcastle central DWP offices from 10 am as part of a social media campaign to draw attention to the final day of the Court proceedings that will decide if the £20 uplift should have been extended to disabled people.
The DWP office in the centre of Newcastle because it is just 4 minutes from the monument metro. Buses 62 or 63 are slightly further away
We will be from 10 am till 12 noon
We will also be “tweeting” that day under the hashtag #ExtendTheUplift

  1. Morning, Demonstration went ahead at Newcastle DWP and I hope you got the pictures. In addition to raising issue we found great response to social media and at least one new member.

  2. 17th is the first day of the judicial review due to finish on the 18th and we may not hear for a while after that ,that’s if it doesn’t get adjourned again or if they decide not to fight it , but we are confident

  3. What is the argument for not having extended it? Or was it a convenient error?
