Hello FPA supporters!
As I’m sure you know, it is a crucial moment for fuel poverty and for the climate. We’ve been busy with media appearances, meeting with pensioners’ groups to plan upcoming actions (think possible warm-ups!), participating in the Right2Energy Coalition to develop strong demands for social and climate justice this winter, and preparing for COP26. In addition to suggesting you keep an eye on our social media (Twitter) to stay updated on these things, I want to draw attention to two specific actions:
  1. National Climate Justice Memorial, 29 Oct. 17:30, Bank of England
  2. FPA’s 10-year anniversary crowdfunder to fund the wages of our incredible part-time worker Maddy
National Climate Justice Memorial, 29 Oct. 17:30, Bank of England
Throughout the day on October 29 the Defund Climate Chaos group will be taking bold, creative actions in the City of London and elsewhere outside the UK banks and insurers still funding the climate crisis. Together with groups like FPA, we’ll be laying the blame squarely at the doorsteps of the worst fossil fuel financiers.
⇨ The same corporate giants of the energy industry who are profiting off of fuel poverty.
At the National Climate Justice Memorial, we’ll hear the voices and demands of frontline communities, Pacific Climate Warriors and youth activists from the Philippines, for the UK to lead the world in bold climate action by ending the financing of fossil fuels for good.
FPA has been invited to attend and speak, sharing housing and energy stories from frontline UK communities and how we are all connected through the struggle for climate justice. (Greta will also be there).
Check out more information here, and let me (Alexa, awaud.fpa@gmail.com) know if you want to attend! We’ll be gathering as a group with the FPA banner.

For ten years, Fuel Poverty Action has been advising, campaigning, and joining with dozens of other organisations – from tenants and residents associations to climate campaigns – to organise for change. As well as supporting people in crisis, we will continue to press the government for real solutions: liveable incomes, affordable, climate-friendly energy, and safe, warm housing.

To do this –  we need you!

The best help you could give us is to sign up for a monthly donation. If you can’t do this, you can make a one off donation; or share our crowdfunder in your networks.

Our 10-year anniversary crowdfunder to fund the wages of our incredible part-time worker Maddy. Maddy is the glue that is holding us all together. Maddy’s work is integral to FPA, especially at this crucial moment.

Donate now and please do share! And thank you so much to those of you who have already contributed.
