On 20th January 2017 Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States of America.
That day, together, we will drop banners from bridges across the country to send a simple, hopeful and unmistakable message. We will build bridges, not walls, to a peaceful and just world rid of oppression and hatred.
“Let us build bridges rather than barriers, openness rather than walls. Rather than borders, let us look at distant horizons together in a spirit of acceptance, helpfulness, cooperation, peace, kindness and especially love.” –Martin Luther King

I would like to build bridges rather than drop litter which some poor sucker on community service will have to pick up.
I would have like to see people making bridges out of lego, lollypop sticks and recycled material in parks and city centres. Journalists love such photo opportunities. Here are a few links which express my train of thought:
BRIDGE SCUPTURE
Ha-Ha Bridge
In creating the Ha-Ha Bridge for Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Fell has provided an elegant design which also reveals further levels of meaning.
By incorporating the word itself into the sides of the bridge he not only refers directly to the ha-ha beneath but also provides an amusing reminder of the original coining of the term derived from the cry of surprise at discovering a boundary.

Great, I am helping to organize the Civil Rights Bridge Hungerford, I suggested at the organizing meeting we contact DPAC, but of course you are already ahead of the game. I emailed a local member, Michael Condon, with details of the Hungerford Bridge Group, also KONP, mental health campaigns etc. Are you goi.ng to banner making at the weekend?
