RMT North East Region are looking for your help and assistance with ongoing campaign we are organising.

As part of the RMT North East Regional Council- “Staff Our Stations” campaign activists will be out campaigning on dates in December as part of our fight to stop LNER cutting travel centre opening hours and subsequently staffing and our members jobs.
Ticket offices do not just sell tickets , they provide information, help and reassurance to our community. Especially to vulnerable groups who rely on this service. The concern too is that this is the thin end of the wedge and any reduction is only the start of further cuts to our services.
We are building a campaign in our region involving groups who will be substantially disadvantaged by these cuts such as the elderly, disabled and women. We hope Disabled People Against Cuts and National Pensioners Convention can join us on demonstrations.
Additionally, we are hoping for strong political support from local councillors, mayors and MPs.
We need a strong turn out from our RMT members and local communities to send a clear message not just to LNER but the Tory government that all railway workers will not stand by and allow our jobs and staffing levels to be cut. Unity is strength!
