We’re very sad to hear the news of the death of Bill Albert a disability rights campaigner for many years and an inspiration to many of us who are now.
This is a message from his family and an invitation to an online memorial.
Bill Albert 1942-2020
Dear friends and family of Bill’s,
Our beloved Billy died on the 23rd September, but his memory lives on in his writing, in the music he loved, and in the memories and stories we have to share with each other.
Please join us online on the 3rd October from 6pm (BST) until everyone logs off.
We have set up an online sheet where you can sign up to share a bit of music, a favourite reading (from one of Bill’s books/stories/poems – or one of your own making/choosing), or a story about him – or just to say something nice about him. He would have liked to have as many people say as many nice – or at least interesting – things about him as possible, so it doesn’t matter how well you knew him, or what you have to share – the more the merrier.
To attend the event, and/or get a link to the sign-up sheet, please send an email to saul.albert+bill@gmail.com
Please also share this invitation far and wide – feel free to post it online etc.
We’re looking forward to sharing memories of Bill with you then.
Love to you all,
Gill, Sas, Maya, Remmert, Saul and Charlotte
