Please keep May 5th free and join us for an exciting day of events.

We are looking to hold an event on Tuesday 5th May which is European Day of Independent Living.

The event is an attempt to create activities and institutions which build on our shared cultural history & experience of struggle and a DIY approach to finding solutions to the barriers we face – but through a modern day lens.

We hope this will begin the discussion about what it means to be a disabled person in the UK in the 21st century. And in the longer term use these events and activities as a means to raising awareness among disabled people about their rights, develop tools and resources (such as training/skill shares, developing local peer support networks) which support them to become active citizens and change the narrative of disabled people from (currently) passive recipients of services to one of people with agency and an equal stake in society.

The event will be centred around a display by wheelchair motocross (WCMX) riders (the equivalent of X Games riders), sex toys, VR, rap and poetry and will involve many other exciting plans which we’ll be advertising as soon as possible.
