Hundreds of people gathered to protest last Tuesday and you can see what happened at the Bring Down the Big Six action here: https://fuelpovertyaction.org.uk/
Our last event of the year is an open meeting on Thursday 12th December at 7pm
Our meeting on Thursday 12 December is open to everyone, and if you’ve ever thought about getting involved in Fuel Poverty Action – now’s the time!
We’re lucky to be joined by Jonas from the campaign to take Berlin’s energy grid into public ownership who will join in the discussion and share his insights about how they mobilised for their campaign.
• An introduction to Fuel Poverty Action for newcomers
• A discussion about public ownership of energy and whether this is what we should be calling for in the UK, what about community energy?
• A discussion about the next action for the “Winter of Action for Energy Justice”. Our first protest outside npower saw over 200 people out on the street calling for an end to the Big Six’s strangle hold on our lives, and democratically controlled renewables as a positive alternative.
• A few business items – a taster of what we’re working on over the winter.
Join us for interesting discussions & exciting plans!
