DPAC now has a volunteer run legal referral service with solicitors based in London. Please read the information below. If you feel after reading the information below you may still need legal advice please contact us at info@hafcac.org.uk or on 07899 752877. This is run by DPAC volunteers so you may not get an immediate reply.

Frequently, the most effective way of resolving a community care/ social services, health authority (public bodies) related dispute will be through informal contact with the local authority, NHS body, MP or a local councillor.

You may be able to get advice from a local advice agency or law centre first which may be more accessible to you.

However, the law permits a person to apply to the High Court to have a decision made by a public body reviewed under Human Rights Act 1998 s7.

You will generally be expected to give the local authority or NHS body that you are unhappy with the opportunity to remedy the issue before the ombudsman (a person who is there to represent the interests of the public by investigating and addressing complaints reported by individuals) or a court or will be prepared to consider a complaint.

In certain situations, (such as where a person is facing a deterioration of his or her health as a result of a decision taken by a public body), it may be possible to challenge the decision quickly in the Court or make a direct approach to the ombudsman.

  1. Hello People.
Forget the cut’s for a moment please, I’m desperately ill due to eight years of shocking abuses and deliberate gross neglegences that has almost cost my life to Suicide numerous times I have gathered eight years worth of powerful evidences of some of the abuses by a local service provider who has involved other providers in an adverse way giving them false malicious information and they acted on it in a discriminatory way. There is a big cover up). Litrally and my Mental Health is being used as an excuse It’s all in my mind. How incredibly easy this Public Body get’s away with abuse. Last July they refused to acnowledge a serious set of complaint’s in writing, they wont investigate. they even continued the abuses and neglegences.

I have had Advocacy’s and Legal Aid’s involved with no benefit whatever I have lost thousands in hard cash again a big cove up. no one is helping me get justice no one cares that a public bady is commiting serious abuses It’s only the good people of Facebook that has so far prevented me from taking my own life. Does Hate Crime and gross abuses by public sector workers not count as crimes? The Police are Ignoring me This is not imaginary abues it’s Oh so very real. as isa very real cover up. I have cried out publicly for over three years of ongoing gross neglegences. Grant Shapps no less refused to get involved I was told to try Citezens Advice.

The evidence I’m compiling is mainly for the CORINOR’ Once it’s complete it’s good bye. Local Legal Aid is a quick money maker sham with no result for the victim. and I can prove it. Please world is there even one knowlegable person willing to accept a large amout of evidence of gross abuses and a cover up before it’s to late. Paul Davidson But for how long?

  2. the solicitors said they would cover all of the UK but whether a Scottish or Northern Ireland firm would be better to deal with a situation due to different legislation I’m not sure. I think anyone could get inititial advice through this service though.

  3. My question is reasonably simple, does the Legal Referral Service cover Northern Ireland and Scotland?

If not, perhaps Black Triangle (and other interested parties) could facilitate the creation of a similar scheme in these Nationhoods?

  4. Thanks good to know this information x
